Overhaul Mods: What "Big Change" Means in EA Week One
In factory-game terms, an "overhaul" mod changes the shape of the game — new production chains, new dimensions, or new ways to play together. Sandustry's mod ecosystem is one week old, so this page is deliberately short: it names what actually exists now, and labels everything with its evidence tier instead of padding the list.
Sandustry Together: The Multiplayer Mod
The base game is single-player only VERIFIED. The multiplayer path is the community mod Sandustry Together single-source — confirmed by one source with the usual limits, and it requires corelib ≥ 3.1.0. It's the closest thing to an overhaul in week one because it changes what the game fundamentally is: single-player → co-op.
Why Overhaul-Scale Content Is Still Early
- The official toolchain just shipped. Modding tools and Workshop are day-one VERIFIED, but big content mods take months to build, not days.
- EA builds move fast. v0.5.3/v0.5.4 already reworked mechanics VERIFIED; a mod built for one build can break on the next COMMUNITY.
- Content requires verified recipes first. Until official lists are complete (see Buildings and Materials), community overhauls have to be careful about what they assume.
What to Expect Next
Watch the official Discord and the Workshop for the first true overhauls. Until then, treat "overhaul" claims with suspicion unless the mod page shows its own evidence — and always back up saves before installing COMMUNITY.
Honest boundary: there is no verified list of overhaul mods beyond Sandustry Together (multiplayer) in the materials we could confirm. Anything else claiming to be an overhaul in week one should be treated as unverified.
