The Sandustry Blueprint System
Blueprints are an official system that lets you save a build and export it to share with others, who can then stamp it straight into their own factory VERIFIED. Until now the only coverage was a single 2:55 video — this is the written guide.
What a Blueprint Is (and Isn't)
- It is: a saved layout of your machines and logistics you can drop elsewhere — great for the "copy the whole unit" expansion strategy from the Automation guide.
- It is not: a mod. Blueprints are vanilla and shareable without loaders; mods are a separate, loader-based system (see the Mods hub).
Saving a Build
Once a production unit is dialed in — say your standard "mixing pool + diagonal shaker chain + filter + Collector" — capture it as a blueprint. You now have a reusable "money-printing unit" you can paste instead of rebuilding from scratch every expansion.
Exporting & Sharing
Export the blueprint to a file and share it. Others import it and place it in their world. This is how the community distributes proven layouts — especially the trickier ones like diagonal shaker arrangements and launcher-tower + Shift-skip routing, where a picture is worth a wall of text.
Share the version. Because the EA heat rework changed the lava side, note your build number on any shared blueprint so recipients know which mechanics it assumes.
Reusing Community Blueprints
When you import someone else's blueprint, treat it as a starting cell, not gospel — paste it, check the ratios against your own water and gold budget, and adapt. A shared layout that assumes abundant water may need rework on a dry seed.
